This first prize short movie by Mish Mash Films, a new team created from Ottawa film talent to participate in the 2010 Boxcart Film Festival 72 hour Challenge. This team wrote, edited and produced an 8 minute film in 72 hours. From the moment they received the rules on Thursday evening to the moment they submitted the final product on Sunday evening, they worked together with little sleep to produce the WINNING FILM!
The rules each team received for the 72 hour film making challenge were as follows:
The film must include:
- 1 reference: to the movie ‘Back to the Future’
- 2 props: a grilled cheese sandwich & a dumpster or recycle bin
- 2 locations: a shawarma restaurant & the Chateau Laurier
- 1 action: several jumping jacks
- 1sentence: “I can swim, I just can’t keep my head above water”
- 1 phrase: “hard time”
- 1 overarching theme: “28 days late for work”
