The Ottawa International Film Festival (OIFF) is excited to present a fusion of film and music in the form of a Music Video Challenge!  Musicians and filmmakers from the Ottawa-Gatineau  are invited to work together and produce a music video as part of the OIFF’s first annual competition.

Challengers will be given full creative freedom, and the filmmakers will work closely with the musicians to craft a vision for the project.  The deadline for filmmakers and bands to apply is May 30th by 8PM.

TO APPLY read the following and submit to info@oiff.ca:

1. Interested filmmakers and musicians should submit a short bio with a link to the song that will be used.
2. A link to both filmmakers/musicians website.
3. Promotional material and press for their work online to help to get a broader scope of their work but can be used to help promote the project.
4. Contact information and main contact should also be included.
5. If you have a group of filmmakers you wish to work with, please indicate that also otherwise we can pair your band with filmmakers.
6. There is NO time limit on this challenge other then it must be delivered in full by June 30th at 6PM (in person, by email or postmarked for June 30th, 2010).
7. There is no fee to enter the Music Video Challenge
8. By participating in this challenge, both filmmakers and musicians agree that although filmmakers can promote the music video in the future, the copyright and ownership belongs to the owner of the music used in this competition, ie. the band.

On Friday, August 20th, the inaugural OIFF event will take place at the Lieutenant’s Pump Pub in Ottawa.  All videos from the challenge will be screened and based on an audience vote the winner of the $250 cash prize will be announced that night.

This exciting showcase will kick off the weekend-long film festival, which runs from August 20th-22nd.

The deadline to register is May 30th, 2010 at 8:00 pm.  Please ensure that ALL  accompanying application materials are received by email prior to the application deadline.
