The Ottawa International Film Festival is one of the newest International Film Festivals in the world. The festival will run between August 20th-22nd, 2010 and for 3 days, film lovers, filmmakers, industry professionals and media will watch screenings of the best in new cinema from established and up-and-coming filmmakers.

Taking place in the nation’s capital, the Festival coordinators consistently strives to achieve excellence in selecting film programming to promote Canadian filmmakers in both the established market and that of of emerging filmmakers, also including international talent in world cinema.
The Festival also serves as a platform for Canadian artists to share their stories. Audacious in its selection and supported by the strength and intelligence of its international audience, the Festival will become the landmark destination for the moving image and is forging ahead, seeking new ways to engineer creative and cultural discovery through film.
The level of engagement the Festival for the first year has generated an unprecedented level of enthusiasm and filmmakers are privy to unprecented levels of acccess to one another as they exchange ideas about the art and business of filmmaking.
From the efficiency and dedication of the Festival’s staff and volunteers to its vast contribution to the culture and economy of the City of Ottawa, the Ottawa International Film Festival is quickly gaining visibility for it’s innovative programming with a specific focus on Canadian films.
The 2010 Ottawa International Film Festival will include, but will not be limited to, the following programmes: Canada’s Pride, World Cinema, Gala Events and The Eat My Shorts “Music Video Challenge” Selected films will be placed in the appropriate programme by the Festival Organizing Committee in consultation with the filmmaker.
